Jens played a delightful set to an overflowing crowd at Webster Hall last Saturday. He was engaging and charming, treating the crowd to several encores before succumbing to the thumping house music of the club next door. The melodies and rhythms he borrows from other groups become more obvious when you see him live, which only adds to his appeal. It's easy to like a guy whose sound is rooted in some of the best pop of 60's and 70's. The first encore was a cover of Moondog's Paris, which saw members of the opening acts spill onto the stage as backing singers. It was easily one of the highlights of the show. Check out the original and a track from Jens' debut below.
